German vs. Germany

One regular mistake I hear is the use of "German" to mean the country.

The noun (country name) is "Germany".

"German" is an adjective. For example:

I like German bread.
German people are really friendly.

In this case, the noun is longer than the adjective. Most country adjectives are longer than the noun.
Australia -> Australian
Japan -> Japanese

BUT
Germany -> German
